After many years within Greenwich Tom left in the early 90's to travel around the world, he had left to go travelling around the UK for a year, and he was only due to came back from travelling, to see his friends in Greenwich for 6 weeks, as he was due to leave again for Australia.  He had no intention of opening a business but, he then found that there was no where to eat within Greenwich , that he could get a good true British and Irish meal within the area. Which was his absolute favourite style of food and passion in life.

Being a Chef himself, a friend of Toms told him that there was a place asking for someone to start a restaurant, within a local bar.

Tom decided that it was important to do something that he loved doing and was so passionate about and he believed that he could once again provide people in Greenwich with food that people loved, but no longer could have.

Thus, The Green pea was created through Adrian and Tom, and has been within Greenwich since 2004

The emphasis was on fresh food, and providing a true traditional English and Irish menu and creating something different from everyone else. This was too include vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as homemade pies and wonderful deserts.

They wanted to provide people with a delightfully simple, heart warming, tummy filling and affordable menu. In a friendly and comfortable location

To this day this is still Tom’s mission and the restaurant is often known as the hidden gem of Greenwich.

And of course Tom is legendary to all his regular customers for his personality, passion and amazing talent for cooking.

The Green Pea is still the only restaurant within Greenwich where you can get true British and Irish fresh food at affordable prices.
